Your access code is different from your password. Your password is used to log in.

Your access code is a code you must give to an organization in order for them to make you a member of that organization (along with your email address) and it's purpose is to prevent an organization from making you a member of the organization without your permission.

Users can change their user access code at any time in their user settings and it is recommended that user's do change their access code after each time they give it to an organization so that they can be made a member of the organization and that addition is completed.
